From Gap to Stanford: The Unlikely Career Behind a Healthcare Revolution

Jay Talaviya

“From data to doctors.”

Jay Talaviya doesn’t just talk about transforming healthcare, he’s doing it. As the Co-Founder and CEO of CareNiva, Talaviya is quietly reshaping how local clinics, wellness providers, and urgent care centers deliver virtual care. His Irvine-based startup has carved a niche in HIPAA-compliant, real-time telehealth, offering tools for operational scaling without sacrificing the intimacy of patient care.

From the backend dashboards to intake workflows and scheduling logistics, CareNiva is tailored for providers who want to bring continuity and scale to their digital offerings. Under Jay’s leadership, it’s not just another healthtech platform, it’s a working solution designed for the messy realities of modern care.

Engineering solutions across industries

Before launching CareNiva, Jay built a career few startup founders can claim. With more than 20 years of cross-sector experience, he’s worked in retail, automotive, healthcare, and finance, building data systems and operational pipelines for brands like Gap Inc, Chipotle, Cox Automotive, and Kelley Blue Book.

He’s also spent time at Deloitte and NMS Consulting, where he advised enterprises on data strategy and process transformation. This background gave him rare insight into how systems break, and what it takes to build ones that don’t. It’s this operational fluency that’s now embedded in CareNiva’s DNA.

The academic backbone behind the vision

Jay’s technical grounding is just as robust as his professional experience. He holds a Master’s in AI and Data Science from Stanford, an MBA from the University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from Gujarat University.

This mix of engineering, business, and advanced AI knowledge makes him a rare hybrid: someone who can architect the tech, translate the business case, and execute at scale. It’s no surprise that CareNiva’s platform reflects that same blend, pragmatic, scalable, and patient-focused.

Making local care truly digital

Unlike platforms that cater to enterprise health systems, CareNiva is built for the small-to-mid tier providers who often lack in-house IT or operations teams. Jay saw an opportunity to level the playing field, giving these clinics a plug-and-play platform with real-time scheduling, automated workflows, and Medicare-ready compliance.

Under his direction, CareNiva has become a go-to virtual care solution for clinics looking to expand digitally without the learning curve or overhead. It’s a vision rooted in access, simplicity, and scale.

The quiet builder behind a healthcare shift

Jay Talaviya doesn’t rely on headlines or hype. He’s building where it counts, inside clinics and health systems that need digital tools to survive in today’s fragmented healthcare landscape.

With an expanding presence in select regions of the U.S., CareNiva is becoming a trusted platform for providers who want to meet patients where they are, online, on their schedule, and on their terms. Behind that quiet shift is a founder who’s been preparing for this moment his entire career.
