The Hamptons, long synonymous with luxury and exclusivity, is welcoming a new addition to its hospitality scene. The former Seabreeze Motel, a modest fixture in the area, has been reimagined as the upscale boutique hotel Three Ducks. Set to open just in time for the summer season, the property promises to blend relaxation with understated elegance, offering guests a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Owners Randall Stone and Elizabeth Bakhash have poured their vision into the transformation, creating a space that emphasizes simplicity and tranquility. With room rates ranging from to 795 per night, Three Ducks aims to cater to discerning travelers seeking a blend of comfort and sophistication.

A fresh take on Hamptons hospitality

The Seabreeze Motel, once a no-frills accommodation option, has been completely overhauled to reflect the refined aesthetic of its new owners. Stone and Bakhash, both seasoned entrepreneurs with a passion for design, sought to create a space that feels both luxurious and approachable. The result is a hotel that balances modern amenities with a calming, minimalist vibe.

The name Three Ducks pays homage to the property’s history and its surroundings. The Hamptons, known for its pristine beaches and natural beauty, has long been a haven for wildlife, including the ducks that frequent the nearby ponds. The name also reflects the owners’ desire to create a space that feels connected to its environment, offering guests a sense of peace and harmony.

Design inspired by nature

The redesign of Three Ducks was guided by a commitment to simplicity and sustainability. The interiors feature a neutral color palette, with shades of white, beige, and soft gray dominating the space. Natural materials such as wood, stone, and linen are used throughout, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Each of the 20 rooms has been thoughtfully designed to maximize comfort and relaxation. Guests can expect plush bedding, oversized windows that let in natural light, and private balconies or patios with views of the surrounding landscape. The bathrooms, outfitted with rainfall showers and organic toiletries, add a touch of indulgence to the experience.

The common areas have also been reimagined to encourage connection and relaxation. A cozy lounge area with a fireplace invites guests to unwind, while the outdoor spaces feature a swimming pool, a fire pit, and plenty of seating for al fresco dining or simply soaking up the sun.

Focus on relaxation and simplicity

At the heart of Three Ducks is a commitment to providing guests with a tranquil retreat. Stone and Bakhash have intentionally avoided the over-the-top opulence often associated with Hamptons hotels, instead opting for a more understated approach. The goal, they say, is to create a space where guests can truly unwind and recharge.

“We wanted to design a hotel that feels like a home away from home,” says Bakhash. “Somewhere you can come to relax, disconnect, and just enjoy the beauty of the Hamptons.”

To that end, the hotel offers a range of amenities designed to promote relaxation. Guests can start their day with a complimentary breakfast featuring locally sourced ingredients, or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening as they watch the sunset over the water. For those looking to explore the area, the hotel offers bicycles for guests to use, as well as personalized recommendations for nearby restaurants, shops, and attractions.

A new chapter for the Hamptons

The transformation of the Seabreeze Motel into Three Ducks marks a new chapter for the Hamptons hospitality scene. While the area is no stranger to luxury accommodations, the hotel’s focus on simplicity and serenity sets it apart. By blending modern design with a connection to nature, Stone and Bakhash have created a space that feels both timeless and contemporary.

As the summer season approaches, anticipation is building for the official opening of Three Ducks. With its thoughtful design, commitment to relaxation, and prime location in one of the most sought-after destinations in the country, the hotel is poised to become a favorite among travelers seeking a peaceful retreat in the Hamptons.

Prices range from $495 per night on weekdays to $795 on weekends
